NEW WINS WORTH MORE THAN £30M

NEW CORPORATE TRAVEL account wins have taken the value of Expotel's business above £30 million for the first time since the company's management buy-out last year.

The hotel booking agency-turned-travel management company expects to do even better this year as its new sales team - brought in to help diversify away from the core hotel business - settles in. Chief executive Ian Burnley said: "I am delighted with recent results, particularly as we are only at an early stage in building the new sales team. We are well ahead of our expectations, and the potential to increase share in this market is greater than we originally thought."

Sales and marketing director James Steventon said: "Our key strength lies with our hotel inventory where we offer a huge range of choice at excellent rates, but we are also able to offer advice to customers across other areas of travel spend.

"We are accumulating new accounts of a good size and are delivering a very good service through our four customer service centres, so I would expect to do even better next year."
