CARLSON HOTELS POSITIVE RESULTS

CARLSON HOTELS WORLDWIDE added 33 properties in 13 countries to its portfolio in 2009's second quarter of 2009, and signed franchise and management deals on a further 20.

The deals take the Carlson roster to 1,032 hotels with more than 153,500 rooms in 73 countries. Brands include Radisson, Regent, Country Inn, Park Plaza and Park Inn. The new openings included Park Inns in Brighton, Doncaster, and Manchester. The Rezidor Hotel Group, Carlson's sole franchisor in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, has subsequently announced the opening in 2011 of its seventh Park Inn in Norway, a 110-room waterfront property in Steinkjer.
