Bournemouth beats the competition
BOURNEMOUTH'S HOTELS have topped the charts in a nationwide value-for-money index compiled by online hotel reservations service Hotel.info.
The Dorset resort town, better known for its beaches than for its businesses - which nevertheless include the likes of JP Morgan, LV Liverpool Victoria, Siemens, Unisys and BAe Systems - scores 8.21 points out of a possible 10.
The Hotel.info tables, which cover three- and four-star properties, are based on the analysis of more than 600,000 hotel bookers worldwide. Among UK towns and cities, only Southampton came close, with a value rating of 8.09 points.
Compared with a UK average score of 6.5 points, London managed only 5.84, putting it behind the likes of Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
