Commissioning possible

GALILEO-CONNECTED intermediaries are being offered reduced rates on Pegasus Commission Processing, which enables them to reconcile hotel bookings and track commission payments more easily.

The deal, between GDS giant Travelport and Utell's parent company Pegasus Solutions, enables Galileo users - so far only in the EMEA and Asia/Pacific regions - to transfer booking data from the Galileo GDS to Pegasus, which will then process, reconcile, consolidate and make weekly payments.

Pegasus Commission Processing pays out more than US$500 million in commissions annually.

Jane Lewis, Travelport's senior director for hospitality and car rental, says: "Recently conducted research showed that as many as 68 per cent of our agents indicated they would make more hotel bookings if hotels paid commissions in an agent-friendly manner."
