OpenSkies abandons Economy in favour of Prem+

34-11

IN LESS THAN six weeks after its launch, British Airways' OpenSkies subsidiary is dispensing with Economy Class in favour of an expanded Prem+ cabin.

From October 1, it will offer 40 leather upholstered seats, up from 28, in the hybrid Business Class section on the Paris Orly-New York JFK route. Passengers enjoy a seat pitch of 52 inches and a 140 degree recline, as opposed to 73 inches of legroom provided by the 24 lie-fl at beds in the full Business Class cabin.

"From the very beginning, OpenSkies was built with a spirit of experimentation and creativity," says managing director Dale Moss. "Since our launch, we have had a tremendously positive reception to our Prem+ service, and we are focused on continuing to be flexible and responsive to our customers' needs."
